On our Hiking in Slovenia adventure, we explore cultural treasures in the cities and head out for walks and hikes amid stunning lakes, rivers, and mountain vistas. One of our travelers shared some of her favorite places we visited after a recent trip taken in the summer of 2022.

Slovenia is a delightful nature-rich country that we loved exploring for the first time during our Hiking in Slovenia adventure. Our Trip Leaders Nena and Stan gave us a grand tour starting in the central capital, Ljubljana, with its abundant street markets, to eastern Ptuj, with its historical bell-ringing Korants, to alpine Bled and Kobarid, in the heart of Triglav National Park, to the sublime coastal Piran and its incredible salt flats. Here are some of our favorite places we visited as each area was different and pristinely beautiful.

After exploring the capital and vineyards near Ptuj, we hiked a trail above stunning Logarska Dolina, a magnificent glacial valley of emerald meadows flanked by steep limestone peaks.

During our hikes, we passed traditional farmsteads, some dating back hundreds of years. Here are individually decorated beehives in Robanov Kot.

We also hiked in the steep Vintgar Gorge, where the waters of the Radovna River flow in cascades and rapids, ending at the delightful Sum waterfall.

Then it was on to Lake Bled, one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Europe. Here are views of Lake Bled from Sodniski Stolp as well as Bled Castle.

In Dolina Voje, we hiked to Slap Voje (waterfall), and to Slap Kozjak near the Triglavska Bistrica River.

Our days were filled with fantastic weather and beautiful scenery while our nights were in wonderful, atmospheric hotels and inns, perfect for relaxing.
