Rob Noonan slacklining on a chain in front of the Duomo in Florence.

Here I am walking on a chain in front of the Duomo in Florence! (Slacklining—a cousin to tightrope walking—is a passion of mine.) What an amazing night this was! I had just returned from our Cortina Dolomites trip and had some free days, so I took a train from Venice to Florence. I spent about two and a half hours hanging out there by the Duomo, mainly teaching African street vendors how to “walk the line.” A group of French, Spanish, and Swedish travelers also learned—or at least fell off the chain multiple times! Just one of the simple joys of spending time with folks from around the world.
